Yes - And it is working! Yusuf Estes was there along with Eddie from www.TheDeenShow.com and Dr. Sabeel just two weeks ago - Since starting last month, 14 people have accepted Islam in this project - Al Hamdulillah.

For example, Leslie C. Toole was thinking about becoming a Muslim for 10 years - but he needed something to "push him along". Well, he got his "push" from a bus in Chicago.
That's right - a bus - with a simple sign: "ISLAM" Got Questions? Get Answers!

Mr. Toole says, "I never truly committed and when I saw that sign I knew that was the final sign to complete my move." He first saw the word "ISLAM" on a pamphlet ten years ago when a man handed him a pamphlet telling him he'll find enlightenment in it.
"And I kept reading and reading and I wanted to make sure that I understand what I got involved in."
Then finally, last month while standing on a street corner downtown Chicago, it happened - A Chicago Transit Authority bus rolled up in front of him with the word again - "ISLAM"

  Islam and the West: Bridging the Divide
There is no getting away from it - Islam and the West view one another with mistrust and suspicion.

Suspicion & mistrust pervade relations between Islam and the West

A historian might say - they always have.
But, if so, their long and turbulent relationship has entered a new phase over the last 30 years or so.

A series of events - from the worldwide Islamic revival of the 1970s to the 11 September 2001 attacks against America - fuelled the fear that Islam and the West are on a collision course.

But, are they really - "Worlds apart"?

NOTE: Keep in mind, most Muslims living in so-called "Islamic" states, do not really enjoy the true state of Islam referred to in Quranic texts, nor do they have the freedom of speech and open media we take for granted every day (like this article you are reading right now).
For the most part, the vast majority of Muslims live under heavily occupied conditions being represented to the west as "Islamic State" when in fact, it is military occupation with dictatorship governments left in place by western occupation.

Many in the West associate Islam with violence and extremism. Militant Islamic groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah are constantly in the news.

The most famous of them, al-Qaeda and its leader Osama Bin Laden, are the main suspects in the 11 September attacks and a string of others - in Bali and Mombasa and, more recently, in Casablanca, Riyadh and Jakarta.

In addition, Islam is seen as hostile to democracy, women, gays and other religions.

On the local scene there on the ground, just outside of the small city of Quetta, the latest report from our man in Pakistan is, the tents and warm clothes are . . .

"Bounce Back Economy" says Bush, to reassure Americans about the cost and scope of the nation's financial bailout plan and said that in the long run "Our economy will bounce back."
(Question: "Who does he mean - "our"? Is that Bush and Buddies? I mean after all, he needs some kind of security because he is soon to be out of work, right?)

The bailout plan runs counter to Bush's oft-stated commitment to free enterprise and the president said he knew many Americans have reservations about the government's approach, particularly the Treasury's planned injection of up to $250 billion in U.S. banks in return for partial ownership stakes, something that hasn't been done since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Since Oct. 9, 2007, when the Dow topped 14,000, investors have lost $8.3 trillion from pension funds, college savings plans, 401(k)s and other investments.

Bush, in his weekly radio address, acknowledged that people are concerned about their finances and...

There is no doubt in today's world, Islam and Muslims are finding it harder and harder to speak about anything at all. First of all, to find a Muslim who is even willing to speak up, one who knows the religion, knows the languages and understands the society we all live in, and willing to take the time to travel all the way from America without being paid - to speak to Muslims about being patient in the face of the oppression they find themselves in more and more everyday.

And then - after taking permission, planning the program, advertising the event, bringing the speaker from the states - having the university itself cancel the whole event, in the last hour before the program - without any reason given.

Why? - Is this "Freedom - Not to Let Muslims - Speak"?
