PARENTS & LAW MAKERS “CONCERNED” OF ISLAM INFORMATION

NASHVILLE, Tennessee  – 2 lawmakers enter join dispute over teaching information about Islam in state public schools.

Both Senator Kerry Roberts and Senator Mae Beavers issued statements on their position regarding the teaching of anything regarding the world’s fastest growing (and estimated to be - largest) of religions in today’s world.

This comes as reply over concerns the school districts reportedly were “denied” from access to some materials presented to 7th graders in their social studies class.

Both senators assert Tennessee law permits parents or legal guardians to examine any and all materials for instruction of the students.

Wilson County Senator Beavers said that she knows that she had complaints about from her district and the state of Tennessee and continued saying, “I’ve had some people contact me from Cheatham County about some of the projects being given to the kids,” said Senator Beavers, and “It is a concern.”
