Son? Of Who?

Son?
of WHO?

All Muslims, Christians and even Jews want to know -
"Who, exactly, was the person mentioned in the Bible, translated as 'son of man'?"

This comes to us from one of our readers -

Assalamu Alaikom :

Dear Yusuf Estes, recently I have heard that there is a difference ( but not sure) between the arabic word (Ibn) and the other arabic word (walad) , which both I thought it means son . but it turns out that the word (Walad) means the biological son, while the world ( Ibn) does not mean the biological son.

But it means like a one that you raise and take care of but he is not your actual son, like a son of the wife from another father. now in the arabic Bible Son of God is translated into ( Ibnu Allah ابن الله) , so the word Ibn was used not walad .so I thought that maybe the english language does not have a single word that could give the meaning of Ibn.

So they used Son which could mean Walad or (biological son).

Question:

Could you please tell me what was the word used in the original text, the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek languages. because if they have a word for Ibn and a word for Walad.

The word Ibn was used in the original text, then that means the word son of God, could not mean in any way the biological son.
So, could it mean the one that is close to God?

I am sorry that I am not sure about the difference between (Ibn ابن ) and (Walad ولد ), but could please help me in this?

I am not familiar with this issue from Arabic. However, I do have a bit of information on the translations of Bible the word: "Huios"

I hope we can help you find ways to let people know about Islam, Allah, His Book and His Messenger.

Here's what I came up with: "Ίησοῦς Χριστός, Θεοῦ Υἱός", (Iēsous Christos, Theou Yios), which translates into English as "Jesus, Christ, God, Son"
    •    Iēsous (Ἰησοῦς), Greek for "Jesus" - From Hebrew "Yashua" or Arabic "Essa" (also: Jesse, Jesus,
    •    Christos (Χριστός), Greek for "anointed" - From Hebrew "messiah" or Arabic "messih" - (to touch or wipe)
    •    Theos (Θεóς), Greek for "God" - From Hebrew "El" or Arabic "elah" - (a god)
    •    hyios (Υἱός), Greek for "Son" - From Hebrew "ben" or Arabic "ibn" (a son)
