Hafsa in Canada sent out an email reminding all of us to be proud of who we are and not to compromise our deen of Islam.
Oh yeah - and Hafsa is only 9 years old.
Here is her email to us (will you please put this on Facebook for Hafsa?):
Asalaamu Alaykum,
My name is Hafsa and I am 9 years old. I go to a public school in Ontario, Canada.
One day, I went down the hall with my friends and saw a poster on the wall, it said, "Crazy Hair day", don't forget to make your hair crazy.
My friends got excited and started talking about how they were going to do their hair.(what type of make up, colour etc).
They asked me, if I was going to participate?
I said NO! I am a Muslim and won't take my hijab off.
On that day, everyone made their hair crazy, but I didn't.
One of my classmates said, "Aren't you upset for not participating in such a fun day?"
I said "No, I am proud to wear hijab and be a Muslim. "
Please remember....BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE AND MAINTAIN YOUR IDENTITY.
WASALAAM
Hafsa, in Canada
Thank you, Hafsa.
Maashallah, this is a great reminder for all of us. And you are a good example for your school and Muslims, too.
We will request all of our readers to make dua for you and put your story on Facebook & Twitter (and you can too).
We ask Allah to always protect and guide you and us all, ameen.
Jazakallah khair was salam alaykum,
