Can We Listen to Kids
Music Videos on TV?
Is it permissable for Muslims to listen to children's songs, like Zain Bhikha and David Wharnsby? I have heard some of these on Guide US TV and wonder if there is some fatwa allowing this to continue?
Listen to this while you read...
Good Question.
Actually, there is a big difference between the music of singing without instruments and music with musical instruments, according to almost every scholar I have asked.
But it seems any musical instrument, with the expection of a certain type of tamboreen, called a daff, are not acceptable for Muslims to play or listen to for that matter.
Singing however, is another story and somehting that could be encouraged as long as it was for Allah and not in mixed company with boys singing to girls or girls singing to boys, while trying to arouse each other.
Here is what Dr. Zakir said when Yusuf Chambers asked him about "music" (listen closely):
Comments
I feel alive after I started to not listen to music. I was lost before, like a livewire, not sure of where to go or what my heart will tell me to do next. Now I submit my will to Allah (subahaanahu watha aala) and i get happiness. Now I listen to what is better, the Quran.
