There are certain types of stories coming from officials in "concerned" countries, like Italy (a Catholic State) - Read along as you observe the "double-speak" in false claims about who the real "extermists" there:
ROME — Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini on Wednesday expressed deep concern over the future of Libya and what he called, 'death of 1,000s of innocent citizens'. He said the death toll from days of unrest in Libya was likely to be over a thousand and worried that violence there could spark what he calls, ISLAMIC EXTERMISM. Interesting note - Italy is home to Rome, the very capitol of Catholic Church State - THE VATICAN.
Mr. Frattini expressed his concerns to Rome's Catholic reporters telling them he believed estimates of up to a thousand Libyan civilans could be killed in clashes with security forces and government supporters. Later, addressing the Italian parliament on Wednesday morning, Mr. Frattini added that he was concerned about a rise in “Islamic radicalism” and “rise of an Islamic state” in Eastern Libya, including the Cyrenaica region, which he said was “no longer under the Libyan government’s control.” [Interesting "concern" - coming from the Catholic State]
“This radical Islamism worries us because it is only a few hundred kilometers from the European Union,” Mr. Frattini said, adding that, “nothing can justify the violent killing of hundreds of innocent civilians.” [the "innocent civilians" he is so worried about here are all MUSLIMS - people who are of Islamic faith]
Estimates on the death toll in Libya have been difficult to pin down. Human Rights Watch said it had confirmed 62 deaths in two hospitals after a rampage on Monday night, but the death toll was probably higher.Mr. Frattini’s remarks on Libya were the Italian government’s strongest to date. In recent days, critics had called on Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to use his close ties with Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi to pressure him to stop the violence in Libya. [Does he mean 'Stop the innocent civilians from Qaddafi's violent regime' Or just stop his regime from violence?]
Italy depends heavily on Libya, for almost all of their entire country's natural gas. Could this be one of the more serious concerns of Mr. Frattini? Or is there even more? In 2008, under Mr. Berlusconi, made a deal with Ghadafi, pledging $5 Billion (payable in 20 years), if Ghadafi would block Libya's (innocent?) citizens from entering into Europe, and if he would make deals favoring the Italian companies doing business in Libya. The so-called "treaty" also contains a clause saying, "Italy will not use and will not permit the use of, territories in any hostile act against Libya (Mr. Qaddafi's gang)" and in return - "Libya (Mr. Qaddafi's gang) will not use, nor permit the use of any of Libya's terrortories in any hostile act against Italy." It also states that both countries “should abstain from any form of direct or indirect interference in the internal or external affairs which fall under the jurisdiction of either side, in keeping with the spirit of good neighbors. (meaning Italy would not help the oppressed innocent civilians against Qaddafi's regime)” Critics of the "treaty" say these clauses could compromise Italy’s role as a key member of NATO in the event of an international intervention against Libya. The most interesting part of Mr. Frattini's statements is how he shifts the role of oppressor from Qaddafi's regime to the victims themselves. After expressing such deep concern for the innocent citizens, in the same paragraph he expresses fear of "Islamics" (the same innocent citizens are now labeled as the villians). Once again, proving it hard to keep up with the teams and players without a program... (to be continued - whether we like it or not)... Peace - Dr. Fatih |
