What would happen if -- we treated the Quran the way we treat a cell phone?

..or carried it around everywhere we go?

..or constantly looked at it many times a day?

..or we rush back to go get it, if we left it?

..or we use Quran to receive messages -- from the text?

..or we act it like we can't live without it?

..or we give it to children as gifts?

..or we use it when we travel?

..or we use it in emergencies?

This is something to make you go...."Hey! Where's my Quran?"

O, another thing...

Cell phones need recharging or get disconnected -
The Quran is part of our 'salat' -- and it CHARGES US
Whever we go - we can stay connected - to Quran -
Because Allah is always ready to accept our 'salat' (sala means 'connection')

Makes you stop and think 'Where are my priorities? & Where's my Quran?'
O yeah -- And no dropped calls!

Let's all get 'connected' and read Allah's Quran - (before it's too LATE)...

...and - REMEMBER - READ - COMMENT - SHARE & RATE

This will help keep us up in the ratings...

@ comment, you totally misunderstood what this article was about. he comparison wasn't about the Quran and the Mobile phone. It was about attention and focus and prioritising. What needs more attention than other things. Like do you sit on your bottom and not do the housework so it builds up or do you constantly spend time on your Mobile phone and neglect the teachings of the Quran. It wasn't about having one or the other. We all know the Quran can be carried with you in more ways than one, whether in my head, in your thoughts, in your words, in your actions, so on and so forth. Technology has done some wonderful things this is obvious, look at all the brilliant tiredless work Yusuf Estes and other Sheikhs have done during the years, with showing the true faith of Islam to the world, with their internet sites, their videos, their Islamic tv stations etc etc etc, so Yusuf Estes knows how great technology can be. There are also many downfalls to technology also, which are numerous to mention, whether it be bullying, inappropriate easy to access content, etc etc. Like everything it has how you use it, to what extent and are you controlling it or is it controlling you.

Assalamu alaikum. I think you didnt undertand what yusuf estes was trying to say. we definetly don't read and contemplate about the quran like we should. ofcouse everyone has different perceptions of what he reads, so i advise to you it would be better to read it again.

Assalamualaikum . Where ever I go, people usually use their smart phones for twitter and facebook in a negative way. My perception of 'bad' smart phones changed when i start to befriend a group of REAL Muslimah. Alhamdulillah.. .we were in a discussion about Islam and suddenly a question arised that they needed to refer from Tafsir for more details. I was surprised to see 2 of them (we were in a group of 6 that time)taking out their smart phones and started to recite the Quran with the translation. I said to myself "WOW, technology nowadays DO have benefit sometimes!" So InshaAllah I will get my very own small and handy smart phone, instead of bringing a thick Quran with tafsir in my handbag. Alhamdulillah.

Alhamdulillah, I take my Qur'an EVERYWHERE! in fact, just in case I do forget to grab on my way out the door, I downloaded a Qur'an app on my phone :-)

I guess this comparison doesn't fit. Now we should also start comparing Quran with our dress, spectacles, wallet, credit/debit card, keys, watch, food etc. Eg take dress. We like to wear nice, beautiful dress. Gift them to our loved ones. And we take extra care to a bagful of dress with all necessary items in it when we travel. Don't forget to wear it when we go out (atleast!). Wash and iron them regularly. Such type of attack on a new technology is not new. Previously news paper, television and internet has also faced such types of attacks (of course cell phone is not a new tech but it is getting advanced a faster rate). Remember that cell phone is just a device which definitely has a great utility. Of course wrong things can be done through it but the point is that we should learn how to use it constructively and for our benefit avoid getting into wrong path with it which is also possible with any of the above item but not by above sort of comparisons. Lets not compare Quran with something as worldy as cell phone like we should with our dress, keys, cards etc. Such comparisons only degrades the Quran.

Quran is the solution .. Sure - - that the Quran in our hands are able to radically change us, and re-formulation us as he likes to be Allah in word and deed, and secretly and publicly. Why not, it is the Lord's treatment revealed by Allah to the people to have guidance and healing, assessment and improvement and change for both improves handling with God ...... Read AL-Ma'idah verses 15 & 16

Unfortunately, these days ... even if been dealing with the Quran by the people they are dealing with it superficial only ,,, reading the verses without working by it ... and lack of depth in the meaning of verses.....
