Going to Funeral - 16 Die
A Muslim from India, Samir Sheikh has lost 16 members of his family. He lost his wife, two children, uncle and..
.. 12 other relatives in the ill-fated crash of Air India's plane when it went down in Saturday's crash, in which only 8 out of the 166 people on board survived.
We say, "Inna lillahi wa inna elayhi rajiun" (From Allah we came and to Allah is the return".

His family who were traveling home to attend the funeral of another relative in the Dubai-Mangalore crash of an Air India airliner, the Khaleej Times reported Sunday.

All 16 people heading to India for the funeral of brother Samir Sheikh's grandmother who died on Friday, according to the Khaleej Times.

Sheikh, a Saudi Arabia-based businessman, was in Mumbai and waiting to travel to Mangalore at the time of the crash.

The Air India Express Boeing 737-800 skidded off the so-called "table-top" runway after touching down at Mangalore's Bajpe airport and ploughed into a forested gorge, bursting into flames.

Harpreet Singh, Air India's emergency response coordinator, said at a press briefing in Mumbai on Sunday that all 158 bodies had been recovered, and 87 had been identified and claimed by relatives.

Let's all remember Sheikh's family and those who passed away in this event and make dua for him, as he most certainly needs Allah's Help in this most difficult time.

May Allah keep you all safe and in His Keeping, ameen. -- Editor

inna lillah wa inna ilayhe rajaoun. It is an eye opener for all of us....may Allah guide us to the strait path and lead us to Jannat. It is painful to watch so many of our muslim brothers and sister going through such tough times but it is also a lesson for us to be patient and be true muslims.

Bismillah Rahman Raheem - salam alaykum,_It is difficult for us to loose a loved one, especially someone really close, like your spouse or child._But what about when someone looses 16 of their family members - and on top of it - they were on the way to the funeral of another family member, the grandmother._I remind myself that all of us are facing death everyday - none of us know for sure exactly when, but there can be no mistake. We will all one day, die._I ask Allah to make it easy for our brother Samir and I ask Allah to forgive all of his family who died and fill their graves with light, and the beautiful smells of Jennah and not punish them, ameen._(leave a comment please)
