Tuesday - RIYADH: Prominent Saudi Islamic scholar Sheikh Abdullah bin Jibreen passed away in Riyadh on Monday after a prolonged illness, his family said. He was 78.
He was a member of the Council of Senior Islamic Scholars.

...he was taken to Germany for further treatment. He returned to the Saudi capital last month.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah visited Sheikh Jibreen at the hospital in Riyadh. He went to Germany at the personal expense of the king.
Funeral prayers for the late scholar will be held at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh on Tuesday after Dhuhr prayers, informed sources said.
Born in Quwaieya village in 1352H, Jibreen became a learned scholar of the Qur’an and Sunnah within a period of 12 years. He also became proficient in the commentary of the Qur’an, Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic history and Arabic literature
